Five Digital Marketing Myths

Digital marketing has swiftly grown and shifted from being a supplementary marketing tool to a primary tool in no time. Digital Marketing is a comprehensive term covering multiple aspects including content, social media, email marketing PPC, SEO, and much more. There are some aspects of digital marketing molded in myths and misconceptions that the audience and businesses share, and which calls to be addressed.

Following are the points which attempt to debunk a few myths about digital marketing:

1. Cross-platform isn’t necessary: Not right. While you can certainly survive as a business by focusing on one element of your digital marketing practice, participating in as many as possible is what will really boost your efforts in multi-folds.

2. Posting content is not that important: You may think that once you have your website up and running your job is done – but this isn’t true. If the intention is to attract qualified traffic to your website on an ongoing basis, you need to understand the importance of creating content that is both relevant and visible to your target audience.

3. It’s all about tech: This is both true and false. Yes, technology plays a massive role in digital marketing but at the same time, it’s a maturing of traditional marketing practice. Don’t neglect your old techniques; use them as a foundation for your digital marketing efforts.

4. One-to-one marketing is impossible: Personalizing your digital marketing efforts can increase your brand’s credibility as the go-to place for your product or service. Personalization can also be made better if you know about competitors' digital marketing plans. You can make it even better and have a larger impact on the TG.

5. There are too many social platforms to keep up with: Agree, there are more social platforms than ever – and new ones are emerging all the time. This doesn’t mean you can’t corner the market on each one though. Having company pages on each of the social networks used by your target audience is important (if you have the available resources).

Hence, we can say that let's keep a sharp eye on Digital Marketing myths and avoid it as much as we can. Digital Marketing is a boon for today’s interconnected world and has evolved with the rise of technology.
